I graduated from Rowan University where I attained a degree in Health and Exercise Science. I received my masters degree in physical education as well as educational leadership from Emporia State University.

April Baugh, an elementary physical education and health teacher at Linn Elementary School, KS. Semifinalist for the 2017 Kansas Teacher of the Year award.

Debbie Lopez
Debbie Lopez is an Adapted PE teacher for Direct Ed Educational Solutions across the Greater Los Angeles area. She is also the Cross Country coach at Taft Charter H.S. in Woodland Hills, CA.
Chris Walker
Born in Bristol, Tennessee, Walker spent a great deal of his time moving around with his military family before ending up at the University of Spartanburg, now known as South Carolina Upstate. In college, he shifted his major many times, beginning with art, then mechanical engineering, to accounting, and finally, physical education. His first job offer after graduation was at Hillsborough Elementary when the the school first became year-round Hillsborough Elementary in 1996, and he has been there ever since – 21 years to be exact.

Ms. LaDonda Porter
Ms. LaDonda Porter is a physical education teacher at Beaumont Middle School in Lexington, KY where she has been teaching for over 15 years. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors in health and physical education (K-12). She holds a master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Library Science. She is a Kentucky Society of Health and Physical Education board member. In 2018, she was named KYSHAPE middle school teacher of the year and in 2020, she was named Southern District middle school teacher of the year. Her time at Beaumont middle includes duties of serving as the student trainer for their WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) mentoring program. She has also been serving as the intramural director for over 12 years and as the athletic director for over seven years.

Dr. Lisa Paulson
Dr. Lisa Paulson is a teaching assistant professor in Health and Human Performance at the University of Wisconsin Superior. Lisa earned her PhD in Physical Education and Physical Activity Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. Prior, she served as a PETE and HETE faculty member at the University of Minnesota Duluth, and is also a former elementary physical education, adapted physical education, and middle school health education teacher. Additionally, Lisa serves as chair of the SHAPE America Physical Activity Council, along with a variety of other service roles in the field.

Tim Eastman, Ph.D.
Tim Eastman earned his BS from Central Michigan University in physical education and history, MA from Western Michigan University in physical education pedagogy, and Ph.D. from Liberty University. Before teaching, Tim worked in professional baseball as a minor league umpire; however, he retired during the 2010 season in the Eastern League (AA) because he felt a more significant calling. He has taught for 14 years in places such as Detroit, Michigan; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Jacksonville, Florida; and Dallas, Texas. Tim currently teaches elementary and middle school physical education in Dallas ISD.

Caitlin Schoville
Caitlin Schoville is a health and physical education teacher at Pleasant Valley Junior High in Bettendorf, Iowa. She is actively involved in SHAPE Iowa, was named SHAPE Iowa Middle School PE teacher of the Year in 2022, and SHAPE America’s Central District Middle School PE Teacher of the Year in 2024. Caitlin enjoys being outside, trying new activities, and making learning experiences fun for all.
